Basins

The Basin Family consists primarily of the types of bowls. The "Basin" (on left), the Wash Basin (center) which is a basin filled with water, and the "Bloody Bowl" (on right). Both the empty Basin and the Wash Basin are quite rare. They appeared to be monthly spawners that stopped when UO:R came out.

Although it used to be a monthly spawner as well, the Bloody Bowl is slightly more common than the other type of Basins. This is due to the fact that the Bloody Bowl was a popular quest item (gift), and found its way into many of the "horrific" scenes. Even though the Bloody Bowl is slightly more common than the Basin, it has been assigned the same value of the basin due to the fact that it is a very sought after item. Many of the guilds and themes in Ultima Online are evil based, and items like the Bloody Bowl become the decoration of choice.

Unfortunatly with the introduction of Doom a new variation of basin known as "bloody water" appeared. It used the same graphic as the orginal bloody bowl which has caused the value of all bloody bowls to bottom out in value.

One final side note: though the years, I have seen many items dissappear for no logical reason. These items are usually locked down and have been there for ages, however, I do believe there is either a slight bug, or problem with the bloody bowls. Over the course of time, I have tried to document many of the items that are lost by myself and fellow collectors. They are usually random and unfortunate. I have found a link though in that over 10 bloody bowls have disappeared to my knowledge that were locked down. Although I do not think there is a bug to steal them, I do believe there may be some kind of inherant problem with this item that causes them to disappear once every blue moon or so...

	Since the "bloody water" bowl which spawns in Dungeon Doom uses the same graphic as older blood bowls this item has lost some value. But orignal blood bowls will still fetch a fair price with collectors.
